Inspection & Certification

Types of inspections that we can carry out include but are not limited to:-
  • Certification of new fire systems, extensions and refurbishment.
  • Certification of tenancy alterations.
  • Inspection and Report on existing systems within clients premises.
  • Essential Services Audits of all fire related systems and passive fire safety measures.
  • Overview of Fire Detection & other systems relating to elimination of false alarms
We are familiar with all relevant Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia and have experience in both working for and with consulting engineers and fire safety engineers. This enables us to both converse with them and understand their needs. Fire Safety Systems that can be inspected include:
  • Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems to AS 2118.1 & AS 2118.4 plus NFPA 13
  • Fire Pump Installations to AS 2941
  • Fire Detection (including Smoke, Thermal, VESDA, Flame, Beam and Linear systems) to AS 1670.1, 1670.4 and 1670.6.
  • Special Hazards Systems (including Gas Flooding, Foam, Water Spray  and Pyro-Aerosol Canisters) to the relevant Australia or US Standards.
  • Hydrants, Hose reels & Fire Extinguishers to AS 2419, AS 2441 and AS 2444.

  • We do have the equipment to carry out flow testing for sprinkler systems but not for hydrants.
  • Although we do certification you will notice that we do not now sign off reports as certifiers due to confusion with NSW where building surveyors are referred to as certifiers in legislation. The  wording now used is FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS INSPECTOR.

As it is increasingly common to use fire engineered solutions, we have also become members of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers to enable us to maintain our awareness of trends and methods in this field of fire safety engineering.
